%>The Card Player Poker Tour has rolled into the beautiful Choctaw Casino & Resort in Durant, Oklahoma for a 62-event series that culminates with a $1 million guaranteed main event.
This is the fifth time that the CPPT has made an appearance at Choctaw Casino, which is a little more than an hour away from the Dallas metropolitan area and home to some of the best poker action in the country. The games officially began on April 5 and wrap up with the live-streamed final table of the main event on April 22.
A huge turnout is likely, as evidenced by the $1 million main event guarantee. In addition, there are plenty of other preliminary events remaining on the schedule.
There is plenty of cash up for grabs on April 13 and 14 for the $200+$40 multi cash no-limit hold’em event with a $200,000 guarantee.
Other events on the schedule include pot-limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E., 2-7 triple draw, badugi and variations on no-limit hold’em like seniors, ladies, turbo, win-the-button, six-max, congress, team and bounty tournaments.
“There really is a game for everyone at this tournament, with varying buy-ins and events offered throughout the 17-day series,” said Barnes. “It’s no surprise that the most anticipated event is the main event with a million dollars up for grabs.”
The $1,000+$100 main event features two starting flights, beginning noon on April 20 and 21. Players will begin with 20,000 in starting chips and enjoy generous 40-minute blind levels. Any player who is eliminated before registration closes may re-enter.
Of course, with a hefty $1 million guarantee, a large field is needed to avoid an overlay, which is why Choctaw has packed the schedule chock-full of super and mega satellites. Players can win their main event seat for as little as $50+$15.
